Carmichael's Bookstore is proud to present Wendell Berry at the Crescent Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 26th at 7PM!
Since the 1977 publication of his masterwork The Unsettling of America: Culture and Agriculture, the writing of Wendell Berry has shaped the conversation about how we choose to eat, farm, and live. One of America’s finest literary voices, Berry advocates with wisdom and forthrightness for local family farmers and sustainable land use. Join us to celebrate the 2019 publication of the authoritative two-volume collection of Berry’s influential nonfiction, What I Stand On: Collected Essays 1969-2017(Library of America) to discuss the damage done by today’s industrial agriculture and how Berry’s ideas enhance the public discourse on saving our natural resources and rural communities.
WENDELL BERRY is a novelist, poet, farmer, and environmental writer and activist. He has published over fifty books, including more than two dozen books of poetry, sixteen essay collections, and eight novels.
