Carmichael's Bookstore is excited to sell books at this community event, a night of southern gothic songs and stories as celebrated outsider musician and WFPK favorite Jim White returns to Louisville to sing and swap stories with author McCracken Poston, Jr. upon the release of Poston's new book, a true crime southern courtroom drama, "Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom."

Jim White is a Georgia based musician, artist and author. His debut album Wrong-Eyed Jesus, is considered a minor classic in the Americana genre and was the basis for the award winning BBC documentary Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus. Championed by The New York Times, NPR, Mojo Magazine, Uncut, Breaking Bad’s Vince Gilligan, and countless more, White’s a noted oddball, releasing ten critically acclaimed albums. His essays and short fiction have been widely published, with his story Superwhite winning a Pushcart Prize for Fiction in 2015.

McCracken Poston, Jr. holds dual bar memberships in Georgia and Tennessee, and has achieved pro hac vice admission for cases in many other places, from Alabama to the Republic of Korea. A former four-term state legislator, he now has a full-time law practice in federal, state and municipal courts, concentrating on defending those charged with criminal offenses. McCracken Poston, Jr.'s first book, "Zenith Man: Death, Love and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom" hit bookstores on February 20, 2024.
