Graphis Poster Annual 2016

This Annual presents award-winning work from some of the most talented Poster Designers in the industry. This year's international array of Platinum winners includes IF Studio, Atelier. Jisuke., ARSONAL, Chikako Oguma, hufax arts / China University of Technology, Melchior Imboden, Chiii Design Ltd., Thirst, Chemi Montes Design, and STUDIO INTERNATIONAL.Graphis awarded nearly 500 winners. Platinum and Gold Award Winners receive full-page presentations of their work, and Silver and Merit Winners are also presented. Q&As and work from five Graphis Award-winning judges who scored and provided insights on this year's entries are also featured: Hoon-Dong Chung of Dankook University, Jo o Machado of Jo o Machado Design, Jisuke Matsuda of Atelier. Jisuke, Kari Piippo of Kari Piippo Oy, and John Peed of Cold Open. Also featured is a Q&A with Carolien Glazenburg, Curator of Graphic Design at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in the Netherlands, along with photos of the Museum's favorite posters and exhibitions.Platinum and Gold Winners describe the assignments, their approaches to the problems, and the results of their work, which give insight into their creative processes.

B. Martin Pedersen, Publisher, Design and Editorial Director of Graphis, has won numerous awards in his past from the AIGA, ADC, TDC, and the SPD, who honored him with the first Herb Lubalin Award for excellence in editorial design. He also won the Columbia University National Magazine Award for the best designed magazine of the year. He has been inducted into the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame, received the AIGA Gold Medal for a lifetime achievement in Design, and is a member of Alliance Graphique International (AGI) and the New York Yacht Club.
