Description
This is my family's treasure of old recipes handed down through the ages, from one generation to the next. However, it is more than that. It is also a portrait of living in the mid-west, especially in the city of Saint Louis. The recipes found in this cookbook tell a story well known to anyone living in or hailing from the central United States. It is a story of hard work, sacrifice, and of good times spent around the table with people you love and hold dear to your heart. This cookbook was meant to communicate to my children the importance of simple yet hearty meals; the type that I enjoyed as a child. However, over the years it has become more than that. Today, it is a wonderful resource to many people outside of my immediate family. Like a long awaken memory of walking through the doors of your home and smelling cookies baking in the oven, the recipes in this cook book are reminder that the life we live is a wonderful life and a life worth living at that Enjoy.
