On Thursday, June 21st at 7 PM, Carmichael's is honored to host a celebration of the life and writings
of the late Marilyn Buck, whose collection of poetry Inside/Out has
been posthumously published. Marilyn Buck, who died in 2010, was a
committed political radical, imprisoned for over thirty years for
her revolutionary activities. She was also a prolific writer and poet. Inside/Out is a living testament to the fierce intelligence and huge
compassion that inspired and informed Buck's life, and to the
transcendence of her poetic vision.
Local Louisville poets Sonja De Vries, Carla Wallace, Aletha Fields, and others will read from Buck's collection and reminisce on the impact she had on their lives. Please join us for this very special event.
